LA VIDA Education is a U.S. nonprofit organization that provides educational resources and extracurricular programs to schools and communities in Nicaragua. We operate an Educational Community Center in the village of San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua, fund school construction projects in this area, and provide international work trips for groups from the United States.

LA VIDA Education was founded by Aaron Pick in 2003. Once nonprofit status was established for the organization in the United States, Aaron moved to Nicaragua and lived there for three years to develop a local staff team to run what is now the educational community center. The center started out of his living room, as kids from town would come by to play with puzzles and read children's books in Spanish. After a few months, so many kids showed up that Aaron moved the center to its current location. With up to 300 visits a day, the current location is now too small and a new construction project is in the works.

With the new land purchase, we are in the process of building facilities that will be used as a model for the rest of Nicaragua - a center which will be the educational hub for an entire region of the country.
