The Educational Community Center is the physical expression of a dream LA VIDA carries for the people of San Juan de Oriente. It is a place where education, growth, relationships, fun and mutual giving and receiving come together. Free to the public, the center serves as the educational hub for the people of San Juan de Oriente and surrounding communities. The center has attracted more than 100,000 visits since 2005. Due to the lack of funds allocated to schools in Nicaragua, most teachers and students do not have access to even the most basic materials, including books. The center provides textbooks, reading materials, and art supplies for the entire community, as approximately 90% of the teachers and students in San Juan de Oriente attend programs at the center each week.
