LA VIDA Education is a U.S. nonprofit organization that provides educational resources and extracurricular programs to schools and communities in Latin America. We operate an Educational Community Center in the village of San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua, fund School Construction Projects in this area, and provide international Work Trips for groups from the United States.

Our goal within the village of San Juan de Oriente is to help facilitate community transformation. This involves a holistic and intentionally relational approach to development, as we believe that education plays an important role in helping to develop the spiritual, physical, and emotional well being of the village. As a result, we see this project as a long-term partnership with the community of San Juan de Oriente, one which requires a substantial effort from local volunteers and a concerted effort on their part to reinvest in one another. International work trips are designed to create ongoing partnerships with groups in the United States and the local community of San Juan de Oriente. This experience is heavily dependent on immersion, as groups work side by side with locals in construction projects, help run programs for kids with the local community, play sports with residents, and learn how to make pottery from local families.
